it's never lame.

it's never lame to be a reader.

The best of a book is not the thought which it contains, but the thought which it suggests; just as the charm of music dwells not in the tones but in the echoes of our hearts. ~Oliver Wendell Holme

editting profile in facebook, multiply, twitter or whatsoever social network u're joining, some might be troubled to fill in the 'interest' or 'hobby' column. some just trying hard to think what's 'in' to be put in there, so that people viewing their profile will be awed by their up-to-date self. they struggle hard not to put 'reading' as their hobby or interest, so that people will not find them boring, lame, or simply a nerd.

reading is never be in their dictionary.

but,

we're simply not human if we dont read.

everything in this life has a purpose.
then i ask you, what is your purpose of reading?
if it's just for the sake of yourself, then little by little you'll be tired of it.
but if you know that you're reading to enbalm your heart, while enbalming other's heart too, then you'll find enjoyment in it.

"Do not read, as children do, to amuse yourself, or like the ambitious, for the purpose of instruction. No, read in order to live."
Gustave Flaubert

it's never lame, because you know that you have a bigger purpose of doing it.
if your heart, your mind are dry, what are you going to share with others?
dont talk nonsense, because 'thoughts are faster than the light' as the saying goes.
people are smarter nowadays, so in order to grab their attention to share what's your heart feels, what's your fikrah says is by being smarter yourself.

i dont know bout you, but for me, it's really crucial.

widen your tsaqah al-fiqr, be a flowing river. never the stagnant one because stagnant water will stinks as day goes by.

Read! In the Name of your Lord, Who has created (all that exists), Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous, Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)], Has taught man that which he knew not. (al-alaq:1-5).
